Common Sense For America
ABOUT COMMON SENSE FOR AMERICA:
Common Sense For America (CSFA) unites history and facts to inspire non-partisan, common-sense solutions to America’s biggest challenges.
Founded on the principles of Common Sense (Thomas Paine, 1776) and a deep appreciation for history, Bruce Rutherford—political commentator and educator—analyzes U.S. history, national budgets, and global affairs, breaking them down into clear, transparent insights for everyday Americans. Paine’s Common Sense argued that concentrated political power—whether in a monarchy or an elite ruling class—undermines democracy. In that spirit, CSFA champions government accountability, transparency, and true representation of the people.

Common Sense For America
Taxes and the American Economy Part 2
"We should eliminate corporate income tax! Think about it. These taxes are passed on the consumer and employees in the form of higher costs and lower wages."
This Part 2 Episode continues on the topic of fair tax reform. Bruce shares his ideas on how every American should have a $50,000 automatic tax deduction. Simultaneously, we are strengthening our tax system if we follow these steps.
Dear Common Sense Patriots,
Welcome to our educational series where we explore how common sense principles strengthen our country. Common Sense is a pamphlet originally written and published by Thomas Paine in 1776. Paine argues for limited government, tax reformation, and self-sufficiency. Think about these ideas not as a partisan political person, but as a patriot. I think you will approach many issues that we face today in a new light.
Join our pack of patriots every other Thursday on YouTube and your favorite podcast platforms. You will be sure to engage with thought-provoking content that challenges perspectives and inspires action. History is Our Story — together, we shape the narrative. Email, leave a comment, or send a voice note and share with us YOUR story, questions, and ideas. Don't forget to rate and like to help us reach more Americans.
Warm regards,
Bruce Rutherford
and the Common Sense Team

ABOUT COMMON SENSE FOR AMERICA:
Common Sense For America brings history and facts together to inspire non-partisan, common sense solutions to America's biggest challenges. Inspired by Common Sense a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine, 1776, Bruce Rutherford, political commentator and educator, dissects U.S. history, American finance, and global affairs, and shares insights in everyday language.
Thomas Paine's Common Sense argues that concentrated political power, whether in a monarchy or elite class, is unjust and undermines democracy. Like with Common Sense, we advocate for a government accountable to the people, emphasizing transparency, representation, and checks on power.
